Concept of drive-in rack

Drive-in shelving and drive-in racks are used with forklifts and palleavers. Both systems allow forklifts to enter from either side to access pallets. The load is supported by a guide rail connected to the vertical frame. The forklift can be driven through the post to enter the pallet. The drive-in rack can hold the boxes tightly, has enough aisle area, and allows forklifts to enter the aisle from one side. Usually the boxes are stacked against the wall and the stock is taken out at one end. drive-in racking USES LIFO to pick up goods - LIFO in and LIFO out. Again, the pass-through rack provides good storage capacity, but allows access from both ends. It USES a first-in, first-out (fifo) method. Straight through racks are ideal for outdated or time-sensitive products. Both drive-in shelving and straight-through rack can effectively utilize the storage space. How does the drive-in rack system work?

The drive-in shelving system holds the pallet on a guide rail between the vertical supports. In cases where pallets are not allowed to stack directly with each other, an in-and-out racking system can be used. These systems allow forklift drivers to access the internal pallets. Because these systems allow pallets to be stored several layers deep, they are best suited for keeping a minimum variety of products. To store a large number of multiple cells, these systems help maximize the efficiency of cube storage.

The  drive in racking system USES a single entrance to the rack. The forklift driver pulls it into the opening and places the pallet on the guide rail at the back of the rack. Workers push newer products toward older ones. When picking up the goods, the driver will first the first product as inventory products. The pallets are stacked on the track until the facility forklift truck can reach them. They may stack several pallets deep. Because forklift trucks can only enter from one side, the system allows those trays that are last placed to be ready to be removed first. Since only one side requires open space to enter, the method can store the product against a wall or corner to pack the goods more tightly. Cold storage with minimal space works well with the rack system. However, time-sensitive products or products that require rotation do not work well on this system. On the other hand, if the product turns around quickly, the in/out system may work. Some systems may have openings on both sides for double-sided access. Instead of having entries on both ends of the join, the insertion point does not join. Beams are driven to support the center and roadblocks. The system allows two forklift crews to get close to the product, increasing the number of pallets that workers can pull at the same time.

The drive-in racking system has the same configuration as the drive-in system, but with one end of the drive-in racking system closed, the drive-in system allows the forklift to pass completely through the racking. There are openings at both ends, first add the stock on the shelf first leave. To ensure that the forklift can safely enter and leave the rack, the facility must have access to either end of the pallet rack. While this prevents the drive-in system from filling the corner space, it does save space by storing the tray deeper. In any case, older products must be shipped out as soon as possible, or if the goods need to be rotated regularly, the first-in, first-out system used by the through-pallet rack is beneficial.

What are the benefits of drive-in shelving?

1.For facilities that require more efficient use of space and minimal modification, the drive-in pallet rack provides an advantage over other storage solutions. For years, drive-in shelving systems have been the first choice for freezers or freezers with limited storage space and sleek floors, and excessive movement can be dangerous. But refrigeration isn't the only use for drive-in shelves. Any small space that needs to accommodate more pallets can benefit from the system. Drive-in shelving systems can store up to 75 percent of products compared to alternative pallet racks. Because these storage solutions only need to be accessed from one side, they require less total space than a pass-through system.

2. Today's drive-in racking systems have become popular. But the trend is not surprising. As e-commerce's demand for warehouse space continues to grow, facilities are looking for ways to pack goods more tightly into warehouses. Compared with other rack systems, the drive-in rack has lower cost and can achieve high density product storage. For two - or three-layer deep shelves, gravity flow racks and push-back racks cost almost twice as much as drive-in pallet racks. Because of its cost advantage, this system has become the preferred method for many warehouses to improve the efficiency of their facilities.

3. While changing the layout of the system from drive-in to drive-in provides a way to change the design, suppliers provide many other ways to customize drive-in racking systems. For facilities that use rack systems, the drive-in racking system is usually used in conjunction with other options. Depending on the design, these systems can be used in combination with circulating or rear-push racks. With such systems, the tilting Angle pushes the pallet forward, so the forklift driver can pull the product out without going deep into the cargo rack. The circulation system allows loading from one side and unloading from the other, creating a fifo system. Once the forklift driver removes the pallet from the front, the tilting frame causes gravity to pull the pallet down to the unloading area. The rear-push frame is loaded and unloaded from the same side to form the last in first out system. Since the rear end of the push-back frame is closed, they can be leaned against the wall or become part of the push-in frame system. Like the circulation rack, the push-back rack has an Angle that allows the pallet to move naturally down to the open end for unloading. When loading new products, the forklift driver pushes the pallet back on the shelf, hence the name. Additional ways to store products in drive-in shelving systems can be added to improve system efficiency.

Drive-in shelving systems have many benefits, and drive-in shelving is often more cost-effective than alternative storage solutions in the long run, even though the initial installation price may be higher than other solutions. If you are looking for a supplier of drive in racking that can provide you with high quality products at reasonable prices, Jiangsu NOVA Intelligent Logistics Equipment Co., Ltd. will be a wise choice.
