Automated Storage and Retrieval System (AS/RS) for Warehouse

1. Racking

Design: AS/RS systems typically include pallet racking and drive-in racking, which are both made of a combination of steel and wood panels. These racks have a high load capacity and are used for storing goods in industries such as food, tobacco, electronics, machinery, and defense. Conveyors are used to load and unload items based on instructions from a central computer.

2. Stacker

Design: The stacker in an AS/RS system has a double upright structure that is stable and reliable. It is equipped with vector frequency conversion drive and encoder position control, as well as mechanical and electronic safety features to ensure safe operation. The system uses all-way tracing technology for information transfer and imported electric components. It has a user-friendly touch screen interface for easy operation and can be controlled manually, semi-automatically, automatically, or in conjunction with other logistics equipment.

3. Transportation System

Design Element: The transportation system is typically installed at the front or rear of a warehouse to move goods from one place to another, connecting the tasks performed by forklifts and stackers. It utilizes either a rolling conveyor or chain conveyor, along with lifts, rotating devices, and other machinery.

4. Management System

Design Element: By interfacing with Warehouse Management System (WMS) and Equipment Control System (ECS) using OPC protocol and PROFIBUS bus network, the Siemens S7-300 controller can independently operate all conveyors, facilitating the automatic movement of goods.

6. Additional Equipment
